Winterisation Check List
Engine & Exterior
¨ | Clean entire vehicle including wheel arches and underbody. |
¨ | Fill washer fluid, anti-freeze & fuel tank. |
¨ | Fully inflate tyres. |
¨ | Fold out windscreen wipers so they are not resting on the surface. |
¨ | Cover vents or place winter covers on. |
¨ | Lubricate locks & hinges. |
¨ | Leave motorhome in gear and remove handbrake. |
¨ | Drain water tanks inc toilet flush and boiler. |
¨ | Disconnect/remove battery. |
¨ | Disconnect gas bottles and store safely. Shut off on board tanks. |
¨ | Place security deterrent and initiate alarm/tracker. |
¨ | Place a purpose-made, breathable cover over the motorhome or caravan. |
Interior
¨ | Empty of belongings and remove valuables. |
¨ | Wind out awning, clean thoroughly and let dry. |
¨ | Thorough clean inside and out. |
¨ | Remove all traces of food |
¨ | Leave doors ajar, including fridge & freezer. |
¨ | Remove soft furnishings if possible or place them upright. |
¨ | Wipe & disinfect surfaces including the bathroom. |
¨ | Apply tank cleaner. |
¨ | Open all drain taps, sink taps and valves. |
¨ | Remove shower head and leave to dry out. |
